Summary:
This individual will ensure product requirements and associated inspection methods are available and up to date, train production and supplier personnel in proper inspection methods, and provide Statistical Process Control (SPC) support to production members. This is a 3rd shift contract role.
Responsibilities:Provides training to production members and suppliers in consistent and accurate inspection methods to ensure they are provided up-to-date information
Assists with providing immediate action to resolve quality issues by being involved in manufacturing Corrective Action Teams (CAT)
Selects and inspects products from receipt of raw materials (receiving inspection) to shipment of finished product (product audit), including lifting/moving of products weighing up to 70 pounds (i.e., files, chairs, gages).
Conducts audits (receiving, in-process, and product) to measure conformance to specifications
Provides ongoing Statistical Process Control (SPC) support by identifying problems and assisting with resolution of those issues
Creates inspection instructions and verifies they are current per latest drawing release
Collects and analyzes field warranty or return data to identify manufacturing issues; coordinates corrective action and verifies completion
Performs product performance testing as defined in testing plans to promote quality improvement
Performs inspections using advanced metrology equipment and layout methods, including inspection of fabrics, colors, and finishes
Qualifications:Three years of experience in blueprint reading, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and operation of standard metrology equipment inspection/audit techniques, including one year specific experience in quality discipline
High school education or equivalent required; vocational school or technical school training highly preferred
ASQC Certified Auditor, Mechanical Inspector, or Technician required
Competence in math, including geometry and trigonometry
Ability to spend significant time on production floor
Ability to lift/move product and material weighing up to 70 pounds
