The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's rewards programs, including benefits, compensation, HRIS, payroll, and employee health initiatives.
This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of total rewards principles.
The Total Rewards Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to design, implement, and manage comprehensive total rewards strategies that attract, motivate, and retain top talent.
Benefits Administration:
Manage and administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
Collaborate with external vendors to ensure competitive benefit offerings and negotiate contracts.
Educate employees about available benefits, enrollment procedures, and any changes to plans.
Compensation Management:
Develop and implement a compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals and market benchmarks.
Conduct regular market analysis to ensure compensation packages remain competitive and attractive.
Oversee the annual performance review process and ensure a fair and transparent approach to compensation decisions.
Payroll Management:
Oversee the payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payroll administration.
Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure compliance with payroll regulations and data integrity.
Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
HRIS Management:
Evaluate and implement HRIS solutions to streamline HR processes and improve data management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HRIS accuracy and effectiveness.
Provide guidance and training to HR staff on HRIS usage and best practices.
Employee Health and Wellness:
Manage worker's compensation and leave of absence claims and return-to-work programs.
Develop and implement initiatives to promote employee health and wellness.
Collaborate with stakeholders to create a safe and healthy work environment.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Prepare reports and analysis on compensation and benefits trends, costs, and utilization.
Participate in audits and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
Leadership:
Recruits, hires, and trains HR staff.
Maintains work culture by having a deep understanding of the Hospital culture and the role of Human Resources within the organization.
Develop and maintain the Hospital culture within the Human Resources team, with a refusal to sacrifice culture for technical expertise.
Continual assessment of team strengths and opportunities to position existing employees on the best path for success and identify talent gaps.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, create development plans, objectively assess progress, and hold team members accountable.
Intentional focus on leadership abilities first, with technical abilities secondary.
Objective assessment of actions, behaviors, performance, and role within each situation.
Ability to identify and address areas of opportunity.
Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, motivate, and retain employees, address staffing issues, and maintain legal compliance.
Responsible to adopt and consistently apply core strategic essentials to guide and make decisions to achieve short and long-term organizational objectives.
Develops and monitors budgets to ensure proper expense management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience in total rewards management, including benefits, compensation, HRIS, and payroll.
Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to compensation, benefits, and payroll administration.
Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Certifications (e.
g.
, Certified Compensation Professional, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) are a plus.
